Launch POSTPONED to AUG. 8, 2007

AS OF Aug 3, THE LAUNCH DATE FOR STS-118 IS NOW AUGUST 8, 2007.

The August 6 gathering will not change.

It is very informal. It's a "brown bag" get-together for family and friends, at Lori Wilson Beach Park, between the Cocoa Beach Hilton and Holiday Inn, between 5 and 7 pm.

Everyone is welcome. Barbara will be in quarantine, but some NASA folks may be there. Come and enjoy the camaraderie.

Hey, pretty cool! Is there anyone else out there?

Yes! People should remember that you do not need to have an "invitation" or pay for viewing reservations. There are many great free viewing sites. Click on the "Launch Viewing Locations" link on this page.

Great site! Thanks for directing us to the best activities and opportunities available. Hope to see many Idaho folks on the beaches of Florida!

I'll check in every week.

Barb Morgan--Who would have thought when we were in the McCall Elementary parking lot on those cold fall evenings years ago, with a bunch of enthusiastic kids looking up at the clear night sky at planets and star clusters that one day you would be getting an even better upfront and personal view? Good on you Barb! We'll be following your adventure from here in McCall. Good luck and God speed. Our best to Clay and the kids. ------Bert & Marcia Kulesza

Hi everyone, just signing on to check the site out. Now that STS-117 is home, it is time to really get plans together. It will be fun to get together on the beach prior to launch. Bev Bradford

As a member of the McCall Donnelly School Board of Trustees, it will be very exciting to witness Barbara Morgan finally fullfill her dream for our students here in McCall and Idaho. My wife and I are planning to watch this moment in history there at the beach!

We'd be honored and pleased to meet on the beach during the afternoon of August 6th. Although we're not Idaho people, we welcome voices out of the past, especially those during the several years in the '70s when Barbara worked for us as a superb counselor at Plantation Camp in northern California.

I think this is a great show of support. Folks will be coming from all around the country to witness this piece of history. Many educators have waited with Barb for this important day. I for one, could not be prouder than to have Barb represent my profession!

There are so many of us whose lives have been touch by Barbara! What an inspiring educator...I think of all the teacher workshops and education conferences over the years...there are many memories, but Wednesday will be the culmination of many years that we have all waited for. Can't wait for her to finally get the stardust she yearned for! Looking forward to meeting all of you and trading stories.

Clay, Adam, Ryan and all the Morgans and Raddings, friends and family of Barb: Thank you for the fabulous beach party send off for Barb! The TIS-SAs were thrilled to be at the park with all of you whom we have heard about for all these many years. Thanks for a great gathering which was only the beginning for a spectacular launch and mission. Sorry you missed our week long celebration launch conference, complete with french fried Idaho potatoes as a tribute to Barb when she first "floated" into the ISS. This has been a fabulous mission with non-stop NASA TV coverage so we could vicariously share some of it with Barb. Watching Endeavour and the ISS transit over the dark night sky has been incredible knowing Barb is working or sleeping onboard. We are so proud of her and so happy for her! Seeing her dream become reality has been what we all have been working, wishing and waiting for! Our hearts and minds will be with all of you as we all watch and wish Barb, the entire crew and Endeavour a safe landing tomorrow.
